4. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate The Iftar App. Each service may receive certain data as described below:
4.1 Supabase
We use Supabase for database hosting and user authentication. Your account information, reviews, and favourites are stored on Supabase's cloud infrastructure. Supabase employs encryption in transit and at rest, and we use Row Level Security (RLS) policies to protect your data.
4.2 Google Maps Platform & Places API
We use Google Maps and the Places API to display restaurant locations on the interactive map. Your location coordinates may be sent to Google to render the map and retrieve restaurant information. Google's use of this data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
4.3 Apple Sign-In
If you choose to sign in with Apple, authentication is handled by Apple. We receive only the information you authorise Apple to share. Apple's use of your data is governed by the Apple Privacy Policy.
4.4 Google Sign-In
If you choose to sign in with Google, authentication is handled by Google. We receive your name, email, and profile photo. Google's use of your data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
4.5 Al Adhan API
We use the Al Adhan API to retrieve accurate prayer times. Your approximate location coordinates (latitude and longitude) are sent to this service. No personal identifying information is transmitted.
4.6 Vercel
Our website is hosted on Vercel. Standard web server logs (IP address, browser type, access times) may be collected by Vercel as part of normal hosting operations.
5. Data Storage and Security
We take the security of your data seriously and implement the following measures:
- All data is transmitted over HTTPS with TLS encryption
- Data at rest is encrypted on our database provider's infrastructure
- Row Level Security (RLS) policies restrict data access at the database level
- Authentication tokens are securely managed and stored

6. Data Retention

Reviews and ratings you have submitted may be retained in an anonymised form (with your personal identifiers removed) after account deletion to maintain the integrity of the community review system.
