By accessing or using The Iftar App (the “App”), including our mobile application and website at https://theiftarapp.com, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.
2. Description of Service
The Iftar App is a mobile application that helps users discover halal restaurants, view prayer times, and connect with the Muslim dining community. The App provides:
- A directory of halal-certified and Muslim-friendly restaurants
- User reviews and ratings for restaurants
- Prayer time calculations and iftar/suhoor countdowns
- Restaurant saving and bookmarking features
- Location-based search and discovery
3. User Accounts
To access certain features of the App, you must create an account. When creating an account, you agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete information
- Maintain the security of your account credentials
- Promptly update your information if it changes
- Accept responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account
You may delete your account at any time through the App settings. Upon deletion, your personal data will be removed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
4. User Conduct
When using The Iftar App, you agree not to:
- Post false, misleading, or fraudulent reviews or content
- Harass, abuse, or harm other users
- Post content that is hateful, discriminatory, or offensive
- Impersonate another person or entity
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the App or its systems
- Interfere with or disrupt the App's functionality
- Scrape, crawl, or use automated means to access the App without permission
- Upload malicious code, viruses, or other harmful content
5. User Content
You retain ownership of content you submit to the App, including reviews, ratings, and profile information (“User Content”). By submitting User Content, you grantThe Iftar App a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, display, and distribute your content within the App and for promotional purposes.
We reserve the right to remove any User Content that violates these Terms or that we deem inappropriate, without prior notice.
6. Restaurant Information
The Iftar App provides restaurant information, including halal certification status, as a convenience to users. While we strive for accuracy:
- We do not guarantee the accuracy or completeness of restaurant information
- Halal certification status is provided as reported and may change without notice
- Menu items, prices, and opening hours may differ from what is displayed
- Users should independently verify halal certification with the restaurant
7. Prayer Times
Prayer time calculations are provided using third-party APIs and are intended as a helpful reference. The Iftar App does not guarantee the absolute accuracy of prayer times. Users should consult their local mosque or Islamic authority for official prayer times.
8. Intellectual Property
The App, including its design, code, logos, and branding, is the property of The Iftar App and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the App without our prior written consent.
9. Third-Party Services
The App integrates with third-party services including Google Maps, Supabase, and prayer time APIs. Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or practices of third-party services.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, The Iftar App and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to:
- Reliance on restaurant information or halal certification status
- Inaccuracies in prayer time calculations
- Loss of data or unauthorised access to your account
- Service interruptions or downtime
The App is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless The Iftar App, its operators, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the App or violation of these Terms.
12. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account and access to the App at any time, with or without cause, including for violation of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the App will immediately cease.
13. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Victoria, Australia, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria, Australia.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you through the App or by email. Your continued use of The Iftar App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
